I am a freelance writer from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I spent three years as a featured columnist for Bleacher Report UK covering Formula 1 grand prix racing, but my interests include history (mostly military), hiking (particularly on the Appalachian Trail), astronomy (principally planetary), road-tripping (especially in the American South) and sports (pretty much all of them).
I am always interested in new projects or freelance opportunities.
My professional training and experience includes a degree in history from Carleton University, training as an infantry officer in the Canadian Army and public sector results-based management.
My work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, The Montreal Gazette, VICE, The Athletic, Canadian Running, British soccer mag FourFourTwo and the Canadian Military History peer-reviewed journal, among other publications. I have appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live, ABC Radio and Love Sport Radio to talk Formula 1 and Swiss soccer. I also have experience writing editorial content for businesses (here’s a sample).
You can read more about my career path in a guest post I wrote for Kristi Dosh’s SportsBizMiss site.
My wife and I have three kids who I am training to love Star Wars and Notre Dame football as much as I do.
